The Dovetail Joint

Here is a detailed shot of the dovetailed bed slats.  Take a look at how beds are conventionally constructed.  The bed slats simply sit on a ledge on the rails where they can bunch up or slide leaving you with non-uniform support for your bed.  They also can twist and even fall out if there is much motion on or in the bed.  Worst of all, if the bed rails bow out there is a danger that you and your bed may find the floor at the most unexpected or inoportun time!  If you want your bed to really last, insist on dovetails to hold the slats properly to the rails.
