Sometimes it is the frivolous that makes a room special. Here a whimisical sculpture needed a special stand to show it off. The sculpture is a metal kenitic piece that moves as a crank is turned. The stand needed to place it at a comfortable viewing angle and one that made it easy to turn the crank handle. Since it is a "swimmer" I used bloodwood configured like waves to draw the eye from the floor upward. The highly figured Oregon big leaf maple adds just the right amount of spice.
