Maple burl is the perfect compliment for highly figured Oregon big leaf maple.  In this design the lid stays are made from bubinga and slide in a narrow compartment on each side so they never snag your cloths or bedding stored in the chest.  The top is subtly curved so it is really comfortable to sit upon.  Note also the inlay detail that follows the contour of the legs.
